We’ve also cataloged the answers to some of our most frequently asked — all of which are listed below.

Can You Convert Blueprints To CAD Drawings?

Absolutely. If you have existing blueprints that you need to have rendered in CAD, we can redraft them. Often, we have clients who need to recreate documents so that the CAD renderings can be edited, or the documents can be reproduced. We also provide as-built and existing condition drawings, and we’d be happy to stop by for field measurements if you need help with the latter.

Who Do You Collaborate With?

We work with all sorts of professionals in the design, manufacturing, and construction fields, ensuring that all of those involved in your project have accurate, highly legible documents which communicate the vision of your design. We collaborate with all of the following individuals:

Architects: If you’re an architect, and you need to lighten your workload, we’re here to aid you. We can work with you to produce accurate drawings that encapsulate your vision. From detail drawings to site plans, we can tackle any drafting that you need to render to finish your design project. Oftentimes, architects and architectural firms hire us out as a helping hand for larger projects and more intricate designs.

Designers: We work with designers in all sorts of fields. If, for instance, you’re a furniture designer working on booths for the lobby of an upcoming hotel build, we can help you to create drawings that capture your vision down to the finest detail. We work with interior designers, landscape architects, furniture designers, and others throughout the design industry. And we can create any renderings that you desire, including drawings that capture the materials you’re using, the dimensions of your design, the assembly instructions necessary for the job, and other information.

Developers: Developers rely on our drafting services so that they can quickly render drawings for individual homes or units in a project. Oftentimes, it can be overwhelming to create the necessary documents to get a development underway, and we can take on much of that burden so that the timeline for a project is manageable. We work with developers to create renderings from individual homes, to entire condominium projects.

Homeowners: If you’re planning a renovation or expansion for your home, and you don’t have blueprints of your house, you may need to obtain as-built drawings before you begin your home improvements. Or, perhaps you simply need some assistance creating construction drawings to remodel your home. Regardless of your demands, we can work with you to create drawings that capture your vision, so that you can finish your project without a hitch.

Business owners: Similarly, we work with business owners who are planning a renovation or expansion of their building (or buildings). Whether you’re planning on creating more space for your business, a better environment for your employees, a better assembly line to improve the efficiency of your operations, or anything in between, we can help. We can create the drawings that you’ll need to work with contractors, so that you can grow your business.

Contractors: Here at DrafterMax, we often form a collaborative bridge between designers and builders. We work with contractors to supply accurate drawings that depict building components and assembly details, so that they can create structurally sound buildings. We understand how important it is to ensure that our drawings are legible, so that contractors can work efficiently to complete their project as it was intended.

Building managers: For those who oversee the maintenance and operations of a property, it can prove crucial to have architectural renderings that help to communicate with employees that work on-site. We can create specialized floor plans, site plans, and other drawings to help you communicate with your work force.

Realtors: Realtors often rely on our renderings to help sell real estate. We can create beautiful, accurate drafts of buildings that will impress potential buyers. Count on us for elevation drafts, 3D renderings, and any other drawing that you’ll need to capture the beauty and value of the property that you’re selling.

What Kinds Of Drawings Can You Draft?

We can create drawings of nearly any view of your project, rendered however you’d like. If you need to create an elevation view of your building that shows the facade of a building that you’re designing, we can help. Or, if you simply need a detail drawing to send to a manufacturer who will produce specialized metal components for a staircase you’re implementing, we can do that too. We can draft all of the following architectural drawings:

Floor plan: Floor plans display a rendering of a given floor of a building from a bird’s eye view; these are scale drawings (which means the dimensions are measured and scaled down to fit a draft). Floor plans are one of the most common drawings that we produce, and they can be useful for architects, contractors, and other professionals throughout the design-build process. Our floor plans can be rendered to show the dimensions of a space at scale, and they can include any number of details, from furniture placement, to construction instructions.

Elevation: Elevation plans display a rendering of the facade of a building, as seen from the exterior of the building, and they are scale drawings. Elevation drawings are often produced side by side with floor plans, so that both the building’s horizontal and vertical components are rendered. Elevation drawings may also be combined with section drawings to capture parts of the interior of a building, as well as its exterior.

Cross section: Cross section drawings reveal the interior of a building, as if the rendering was captured from a plane that cuts through a cross section of the building. Cross section drawings are ideal for displaying arrangements of interior spaces, including door placements, counter space, and other components throughout the interior of a building.

Site plan: Like a floor plan, a site plan is a scale drawing that shows a scale, bird’s eye view of a property design. However, site plans also include the landscape surrounding the property, and they’re often the ideal rendering for landscape architects and for designers working with the exterior components of a building (e.g. a deck).

Isometric drawings: Isometric drawings are scaled 3D renderings. These drawings are unlike perspective renderings, since they have measurable dimensions. Isometric drawings are useful when it’s necessary to show how vertical and horizontal elements of a building interact or join.

Perspective renderings: Perspective renderings display how a building will look to the human eye, and unlike isometric drawings, these drawings are not to scale. Perspective renderings are often used to propose projects, and architects often create artistic perspective renderings to display the overall vision for a building, or for interior spaces.

3D CAD renderings: Through 3D CAD modeling, realistic renderings can be created to show what a building or project will look like from varying perspectives. 3D CAD models are useful when clients want to view a project from all sorts of angles.

Working drawings: Working drawings are a set of renderings that aid in the construction of a project. This specialized set of drawings should accurately display all of the necessary plans (often including floor plans, elevation plans, and cross sections), and these plans should include a number of details that are necessary for construction. Working drawings can include dimensions, assembly instructions, structural components, and other information.

What Kind Of Documents Can You Produce?

We produce a variety of documents necessary for a build, including construction documents and filing drawings for both commercial and residential projects. We also create concept design and presentation drawings for those who are in the design process.

Do You Offer Editing Services For Existing Drawings?

Absolutely. Whether you have an existing blueprint, you need an as-built drawing, or you’re editing an existing CAD drawing, we can help you to move forward. We can work with you and your current drawings (if you have any) to create new drawings for renovations or to provide documentation for construction and other uses.

What Are The Benefits Of Hiring A Professional Draftsman?

We find that folks often need to hire a professional draftsman if they are overwhelmed with drawing production, or if they simply can’t produce the drawings that they need, themselves. If you’re an architect who needs an extra hand to produce a full set of working drawings, we can provide.
