About Alteration Type 2 Projects

Here in New York City, Alt 2 projects encompass a variety of specific renovations. Unlike Alteration Type 1 projects, there cannot be a change made to the egress, use, or occupancy number of a building. To put it simply, Alt 2 projects only include either interior or exterior renovations that do not change how the building will be used. Alt 2 projects still require an architect’s approval in order to be submitted to the DOB.
